Felipe Cohen’s practice develops from the tension between the traditional and contemporary ways of displaying the artistic object and the study and revisiting of recurrent problems in art history in order to reinterpret and update their meanings in the present. This tension occurs through the articulation of noble materials and everyday objects, creating paradoxical forms that are forced to closely interact, as well as new symbolic updates of classic signs and genres in a dialectic process.
