Marina Woisky relies on images of decorative objects and ornaments with organic forms as a substrate for her artistic production. Distorted, displaced, and compressed through successive material transpositions and the passage of time, these images undergo a transformation by the artist into extraordinary and chimerical animals and landscapes. Her works fall in the liminal space between bi and three-dimensionality. Through this, the artist addresses the representation, a fundamental issue in the arts, as well as notions of taste and the very status of the image in contemporary society.
Woisky presented the solo exhibition Pedras e bichos d’água (2023) and VRUMMM, in partnership with artist Julia Gallo (2024), at Millan, São Paulo, Brazil. In addition to Through The Garden Bars, a solo show at L.U.P.O., Milan, Italy (2024). Group exhibitions she was featured in include Echoes and Mirages, Almeida & Dale, São Paulo, Brazil (2025); Till the Cows Come Home, at the Banquet Gallery, Milan, Italy (2025); 38th Panorama of Brazilian Art, organized by MAM São Paulo at MAC USP, São Paulo (2024); and Contra-Flecha: Arqueia, mas não quebra, at Almeida & Dale, São Paulo (2023). Her work is featured in the collection of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Brazil.
