We call affined, those natures which, when they meet, quickly lay hold and mutually affect one another.“ This notion described by Goethe in his novel “Elective Affinities,” was the inspiration for this exhibition. It suggests conviviality between art and design using as catalyst the space, voids, textures and light of the Casa Zalszupin.

Balance, clarity and purpose, materiality and quietness, are the elements I strive for in my work and recognize in the art pieces chosen for this dialogue. Geometrical, abstract or figurative, these connections are sometimes obvious, sometimes less so. It is up to who is looking to establish affinities.
