For this edition of the fair, we present the project Expression Thresholds, that gathers artworks from different generations. In a combination of techniques and stories we find a place of passage between what can each object express. This project deals with the possible paths that go through the expression fields in the presented setting, constructing an exceptional narrative.

Therefore, the three meanings of the word “threshold” point to an organization axis. The first indicates the passage through a door, its sill. The second brings an idea of transition – when crossing a door, we enter a new environment. In the third meaning the limits of a specific phenomenon are established. Expression Thresholds is the sill of many doors that open through the diversity of pictorial constructions, of space and image conformation.

The works on view at the stand operate as mirrors, distorting dimensions and conventions, as well as referring to the idea of a portal that opens itself to the unknown and its transition strength. In this works, there are several components intermediating, in the middle of the path: magnets, bottles, glass, steel, bronze, and also the ink that overlaps the screen. These elements can create prisms in the observer’s eye, transforming the perception of each work in association with the whole.
