This Friday, November 28, Vanderlei Lopes opens his new solo exhibition, A parte do fogo, at Cerrado Galeria, in Goiânia (GO).
The Vazamentos series takes center stage in the new solo exhibition, presenting notable examples of Lopes’ body of work from the last five years. Made of polished bronze, the sculptures take on liquid forms, bursting from the interior and corners of the walls, flowing through the space until they form puddles on the floor. By reflecting everything around them, the works make the environment an inseparable part of their poetics.
With a critical text by Divino Sobral, A parte do fogo invokes heat both as a creative driving force and as a destructive element, traversing mythologies, religious traditions, and contemporary issues.
