It is with great joy that Almeida & Dale announces the representation of Alice Shintani.

Marked by an expanded pictorial thinking, Alice Shintani’s work transcends the traditional medium of painting, taking the form of installations, collective actions, and insertions into urban landscapes. Informed by the specific issues of the artistic field, as well as the socio-political and institutional contexts in which her work is situated, Shintani’s work engages with the state of things in the world, seeking to resonate with a wide range of audiences.

Among Shintani’s most recent solo shows and projects are Prayer Birds, Flags Project at the Americas Society in New York, and Cave at the Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz in Ribeirão Preto, both in 2024. Her recent group exhibitions include highlights such as 100 Years of Brazilian Art, G20 Summit, at the Pavilhão da Bienal in 2024; The Sun’s Path, curated by Yudi Rafael at Gomide & Co., São Paulo (2023); and the 34th Bienal de São Paulo, Though It’s Dark, Still I Sing, and its iterations across Brazil, in Chile, and in France.
