Ana Elisa Egreja presents her works at the group exhibition The Poetics of Space, at The Bomb Factory, in London.   

The artist participates in the show with four paintings that continue her research with images from art history. These are canvases focused on the staging of environments that transition between everyday life and fantasy, bringing together elements of the pictorial tradition that blend with figures of animals and fruits representative of the Brazilian imagination.

Of particular note is Purple and Yellow Still Life (2025), in which the artist uses gold leaf, nodding to the historical technique of Byzantine art commonly used in religious iconography. Egreja appropriates the golden glow, elevating her lavish dining tables imbued with Brazilianness to an ethereal state.   

A series of paintings from her gold leaf research are on display in Golden Horizon, a solo show by the artist at Almeida & Dale 1430, until October 25.
