Beatrice Arraes presents three paintings in Postcards, a group exhibition on view at MAMA Projects in New York.
Dedicated to small-format paintings, the exhibition traces dialogues among works by six artists connected to Latin America, turning its gaze toward the interior worlds each poetics creates.
For Daniela Mayer, who penned the exhibition text, Beatrice Arraes’s works “act as impressionist rememberings: blurry reconstructions that, like memory itself, disclose different details with each viewing, their organic contours and sharp contrasts revealing less the scene depicted than the emotional residue that remains.”
