The works Declaración (1996) and Primer sembrado de hongos alucinógenos en La Habana (1997) by Carlos Garaicoa are featured in Language and Image aPérez Art Museum Miami—PAMM.
Opening on May 15, the show brings together conceptual and performance-based photography works from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection. In his work, Garaicoa examines urban space and the connections between social fabric and city architecture. By addressing the passage of time, collective memory, language, and projective thinking, Garaicoa’s work offers critical insight into the financial market’s influence in shaping cities, the legacy of 20th-century utopias, and its modernization plans.
Conceptual and Performance-Based Photography from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection is on view through January 2026.
