Recife, Brazil

Entitled Invenção dos Reinos, the exhibition curated by Ariana Nuala and Marcelo Campos proposes an incursion into the imagery of artist Francisco Brennand. It establishes dialogues between the sculptor’s work and that of 30 contemporary artists, including Daiara Tukano, Jaider Esbell and Lidia Lisbôa.

According to the curators, the exhibition brings together “artists who share creations that listen to the woods, the wetlands, the forests, the rivers. They listen and connect with the enchanted, with snakes, birds, with narratives of the creation of the world, and invent kingdoms. Artists who are committed to not disassociating themselves from their territory, their home, but who converge between the migrations operated by the winds and the forges.”

The exhibition runs through September 2024.
