Elena Damiani is participating in the Aichi Triennale 2025, under the artistic direction of Hoor Al Qasimi, opening on September 13 in Nagoya, Japan.
With the theme A Time Between Ashes and Roses, inspired by the work of Syrian poet Adonis, the Triennial proposes to reflect on a future built on geological visions of time. Instead of immediate national or territorial perspectives, the exhibition reflects on fluctuating states between ecological environments, human activity, the narratives and theories that unite them.
These concerns resonate with Damiani’s practice, which, by mobilizing rocks and sediments in her sculptures, expands human perception of temporality and movement.
On view until November 30.
