Almeida & Dale is heading to Art Basel Hong Kong from March 25 to 29.
A compelling group of works by artists of the Asian diaspora — including Akinori Nakatani, Chen-Kong Fang, Lang Jingshan, Manabu Mabe, Mauro Fuke, Tikashi Fukushima, and Tomie Ohtake — engages in material and conceptual dialogue with works by prominent Latin American artists and art historical legacies such as Alexander Calder, Alice Shintani, Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato, Ana Elisa Egreja, Ivan Campos, Jaider Esbell, Lidia Lisbôa, Mira Schendel, Nino Kapanadze, Saint Clair Cemin, Sara Ramo, and Vivian Caccuri.
Also during the fair, Thiago Hattnher presents recent work in a Kabinett presentation at the gallery’s booth.
The selection highlights oils on canvas and polyethylene in both intimate and medium-scale formats, derived from his recent experiments with new painting supports and techniques. In this set of paitings, Hattnher creates surfaces where pictorial genres, memories, and everyday scenes coexist. Floral arrangements, geometric fields, and landscape silhouettes orbit the gaze along different paths that expand abstraction within the artist’s vocabulary.
