Me, You, and the Moon, a 2015 installation by Tunga, is now on view at the Church of San Miguel de Arévalo in Spain — a 12th‑to‑14th‑century building belonging to the Collegium arts complex.
Curated by Aldones Nino, the work, created late in Tunga’s life, belongs to the collection of curator and collector Sarina Tang and is being shown for the sixth time. Originally conceived for the Château de Chaumont‑sur‑Loire in France, the large‑scale installation arranges recurring elements from Tunga’s poetic universe around a massive petrified tree trunk: fingers, crystals, bottles molded in crystal, plaster, or ceramic, mirrors, and chains. At the same time, the scent of amber essence dripping from one of the structures engages the sense of smell, evoking primordial nature and the passage of time.
