Almeida & Dale will launch Excelsior, a publication dedicated to presenting the career of Alex Červený, next week on December 10. The event will take place at the Fradique 1360 unit, from 6 pm to 8 pm.    

The result of a co-publication between Ubu and Almeida & Dale, the book is the first to bring together a comprehensive catalog of the artist’s work. The publication presents his practice from his own perspective: Červený writes the introduction and comments on processes, references, and specific works.    

The bilingual edition also includes an essay by curator and art critic Nicolas Bourriaud and a text by researcher and curator Giancarlo Hannud, with translations by Ela Bittencourt and Fernando Scheibe. The volume highlights the visual, literary, and everyday universe that permeates the artist’s production, offering a careful overview of his poetics.
