Gustavo Caboco is one of the artists featured in the collective exhibition Um rio não existe sozinho (A river does not exist alone), opening on October 3. Created by the Tomie Ohtake Institute, the exhibition marks the reopening of the Parque Zoobotânico do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, in Belém.
Part of the COP30 program, the show is curated by Sabrina Fontenele and Vânia Leal, and invites artists, traditional masters, architects, scientists, and activists to occupy different spaces in the Zoobotanical Park with artistic expressions created for the event. These are site-specific works, conceived in dialogue with the local ecosystem, suggesting an integrated coexistence, where each work adapts to the conditions of the environment.
Caboco presents Casa de bicho and Antibatismo: Victoria Regia, installations that affirm indigenous memory and permanence while questioning the colonial violence present in the Amazon.
Also on the opening Friday, Sabrina Fontenele invites Gustavo Caboco, along with Sallisa Rosa and Déba Tacana, for a conversation, starting at 9 a.m., in the Auditorium of the Eduardo Galvão Pavilion at the Zoobotanical Park of the Emílio Goeldi Museum of Pará.
