The research project Decay without Mourning: Future Thinking Heritage Practices (Riksbankens Jubileumsfond), in partnership with the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, has launched a publication dedicated to the work of Indigenous artists in the museum’s collection. Available online as a free PDF, the book brings together short artist bios and annotated captions written by Indigenous authors. Works by Gustavo Caboco and Jaider Esbell are featured in the publication, which includes translations — both written and audio — into the Wapichana and Macuxi languages, respectively.

Researcher Sarlene Makuxi authored the texts on Feitiço para salvar a Raposa Serra do Sol (2019), by Esbell; Andando em bando no Parana (2020), by Caboco, Ricardo Wera, and Dival da Silva; and Vamos lutar (2020), created by the artist in collaboration with Juliana Kerexu.
