Bringing together artists from across the Americas and curated by Pablo José Ramírez, the exhibition Several Eternities in a Day: Form in the Age of Living Materials reflects on the agency of materials in artistic practice through works that engage with Indigenous cosmologies and ancestral knowledge and practices. Gustavo Caboco, an artist from the Wapichana people, presents paintings that explore the displacement of Indigenous bodies, the processes of (re)territorialization and memory production. Alongside them, paintings by Jaider Esbell made with organic pigments such as annatto and genipapo activate narratives drawn from the Macuxi cosmology to imagine other forms of relationship between human and other-than-human beings and the land.
