Tender Debris brings together artists from different generations who share practices driven by discarded materials and consumer excedent. Featuring works produced between 1959 and 2025, the exhibition highlights the creation of new meanings and values from appropriated elements.
The show includes works from Henrique Oliveira’s Xilempasto series, developed since 2010, in which construction barriers are reorganized into compositions that move between the sculptural and the pictorial. Moffat Takadiwa’s work is highlighted in the accompanying text by Barbara Soyer for the way it develops “new and noble uses for toothbrush heads and keyboard keys found in large quantities (…), creating large-scale sculptures with an unexpected preciousness.”
