Henrique Oliveira’s Ouroboros (2022) is featured in We Are Nature, an exhibición that highlights the profound connection between humans and the natural world. The show is on view at the Singer Laren Museum in the Netherlands through August 31.
The title Ouroboros refers to the ancient symbol of a snake devouring its own tail—a motif found across numerous cultures that represents infinity and cyclical renewal. Drawing from this concept of eternal return, Oliveira constructs a sculptural installation defined by serpentine forms that coil through the exhibition space in a continuous, flowing motion. Engaging with the architectural characteristics of the site, the work weaves together a sculptural logic with elements of fantastical symbolism.
