Les pensées du cœur at Sans Titre gallery, Paris, marks José Leonilson’s return to the city exactly forty years after his participation in the Nouvelle Biennale de Paris in 1985. Curated by Georgia René-Worms, the exhibition establishes a dialogue between Leonilson’s works from 1981 to 1991 and recent pieces by Sequoia Scavullo.

Leonilson stands at the heart of the exhibition with a deeply intimate visual language—stitched, written, and drawn—that explores desire, the body, illness, and vulnerability. His works offer a poetic and political vocabulary that continues to resonate with striking relevance.
