Joseca Yanomami is among the artists selected for the 60th Venice Biennale in Italy, curated by Adriano Pedrosa. A set of drawings by Joseca is featured in the Nucleo Contemporaneo of the exhibition titled Foreigners Everywhere.
The set of 13 works by the artist — which belong to the MASP collection — is shown together with drawings by André Taniki Yanomami and photographs by Claudia Andujar. In these drawings, Joseca embodies the stories of ancient times and the multiple dimensions of the Yanomami land-forest, visible only to the shamans, translating Yanomami cosmology into visual narratives.
The Biennale Arte 2024 is on view through November 24.
