A significant group of the artist’s drawings is included in the exhibition at the David Nolan Gallery —which embodies the stories of ancient times and the multiple dimensions of the Yanomami land-forest, visible only to the shamans.

Bringing together three generations of artists from the Amazon region, the exhibition, curated by Simon Watson, highlights the visual traditions of Tukano, Yanomami, Tikuna, and Tariana cultures through works by Joseca Yanomami, Chico da Silva, and Kuenan Mayu. “Riverlines began as a conversation about lineage—how techniques, cosmologies, and commitments travel across time and are reconfigured by each generation”, says the curator.
