Carriers, a new exhibition at Goodman Gallery in Johannesburg, South Africa, includes recent works by Maxwell Alexandre, support that has accompanied the artist since his first forays into painting.
The work from the Clube series (2025), in which the artist portrays visitors of Clube de Regatas Flamengo in oil on brown paper, that has accompanied the artist since his first solo and group shows.
At the international exhibition, he also presents works on linen that depict children wearing Rio de Janeiro’s municipal school uniforms and carrying app-based delivery backpacks, another significant body of work in his career.
Alongside Maxwell Alexandre, Carriers also presents works by Pélagie Gbaguidi and Ibrahim Mahama. On view until October 11.
