Funk: um grito de ousadia e liberdade opens this Saturday, November 15, at the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, in São Paulo. Maxwell Alexandre is among the participants in the exhibition.
Having been shown at Maison Folie Wazemmes in Lille, France, the show aims to articulate the history of funk beyond its sound, highlighting its roots in peripheral culture. Between choreography, communities, visuals, and clothing, the exhibition brings together about 473 works and items from the collection.
The curators are Taísa Machado, Dom Filó, Amanda Bonan, Marcelo Campos, and Renata Prado.
