Maya Weishof participates in the 14th Mercosur Biennial: Estalo, opening today, March 27, in Porto Alegre.

Weishof presents a set of new works in a dedicated room at the Fundação Iberê Camargo. The new paintings are born from her experimentation with different formats and dimensions, extrapolating the limits of the canvas to form vibrant images of delight and delirium. In them, bodies merge with each other, with landscapes and animal beings, in scenes that take shape in a zone between vigil and dream.

On Saturday 29th, starting at 4:30pm, Maya Weishof will take part in the lecture Gesto: um panorama sobre o imaginário, accompanied by Darks Miranda and Zé Carlos Garcia, at Espaço Força e Luz.

Curated by Raphael Fonseca with adjunct curators Tiago Sant’Ana and Yina Jiménez Suriel, the Biennial is organized around the theme Estalo [Snap], taken as an invitation to inhabit movement and the transformation from one state to another.
