Miguel Rio Branco opens Desde Tokyo Blues hacia Gritos Sordos, a solo exhibition at the Niemeyer Center in Asturias, Spain.

The starting point for the exhibition is a set of works made by Rio Branco after his first trip to Japan in 2005. The exhibition privileges new approximations and relationships between photographs from different periods and series of works.

“I make connections between images, whether they are of people, objects or places; they are constructions with photographs that may or may not be from the same place and time. It’s about creating a discourse with images, with timeless pieces in which the documental no longer reigns, but where there is the symbolic, the poetic and the personal view,” explains the artist.
