Henrique Oliveira is among those artists selected for the 14th edition of the Taipei Biennial, which opens on November 1, at Taipei Fine Arts Museum. The artist, known for his large plywood sculptures resembling tree trunks, is preparing a new site-specific work for this edition of the exhibition.
With the theme Whispers on the Horizon, the Biennial explores the idea of longing not only as a simple desire, but as a persistent force rooted in collective memory. Based on Taiwan’s colonial history, the show seeks to explore the constantly changing identities and political changes that have shaped the country.
The 14th Biennial is curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath and features 33 newly commissioned works.
On view until March 29, 2026.
