On November 25, Museu das Favelas opens the exhibition Radical Imagination: 100 Years of Frantz Fanon. Among the participating artists are No Martins and Rebeca Carapiá.

The works Para-raios para energias confusas 2.0, 2020–2024, by Carapiá, and Entre o martelo e a bigorna, 2019, by Martins, are part of the selection guided by the connection between Fanon’s ideas and contemporary art, on the centenary of the Martinican psychiatrist, thinker, critic, and revolutionary. In addition to the featured artists, contemporary artists from countries such as Algeria, Angola, Venezuela, Colombia, and Spain are also participating.

With artistic direction by Thais de Menezes and institutional curation by Jairo Malta, the exhibition is organized around four thematic axes—identity, body, territory, and dream—which together highlight the relevance of Fanon’s thinking and his struggle against colonialism, beyond geographical borders.
