The new monograph on Emmanuel Nassar, recently launched in Belém, celebrates the artist’s vocabulary of color and geometry rooted in the visual culture of the Amazon.

Organized by curator and researcher Mateus Nunes, with graphic design by Raúl Loureiro, the publication revisits the early years of Nassar’s practice in the 1980s and highlights his recent works. The book features an extensive chronology by Thierry Freitas and a new edition of Ligia Canongia’s essay Emmanuel Nassar – A Brazilian Pop?, alongside newly texts by Nunes, Pollyana Quintella, and Raphael Fonseca.

A coedition between the Instituto TeArt and Cosac, the publication debuts in São Paulo on December 9.
