Avestruz (2024), by artist Marina Woisky, joins the collection of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo. 

The work was created for the 38º Panorama de Arte Brasileira –  Mil graus and exemplifies the artist’s interest in appropriating images and expanding them into three-dimensional media. By distorting and transforming them through different material transpositions, she creates hybrid animals and landscapes, discussing the very idea of representation, notions of taste, and the role of images in contemporary society.
