Rebeca Carapiá presents a significant set of works on paper in A TERRA, O FOGO, A ÁGUA E OS VENTOS — Por um Museu da Errância com Édouard Glissant, an exhibition at Instituto Tomie Ohtake in São Paulo, opening Wednesday, September 3, curated by Ana Roman and Paulo Miyada. 

Produced during the artist’s residency at Ybytu in 2022 and titled Dois meses de permanência, these drawings stem from central movements in her poetics, which take the word as a starting point. They inflate, fold, and fragment language, displacing it from a linear and monolithic position. 

Carapiá is also presenting a new body of work at the 36th Bienal de São Paulo, opening this week on September 6.
