Presented in collaboration with Andrew Kreps Gallery and Almeida & Dale, the exhibition Roberto Burle Marx – Works: 1940 – 1993 spans both gallery spaces in New York, presenting a selection of five decades of painting by the artist and landscape designer.

A multifaceted figure and a pioneer of environmental conservation, Burle Marx is widely regarded as one of the most innovative landscape designers of the twentieth century. Throughout his career, painting and landscape thinking were closely intertwined. The sinuous and geometric forms that define his paintings closely echo the curves, rhythms, and colors of his gardens. The exhibition highlights the interconnectedness of his practices and the consolidation of abstraction from the 1950s onward, and remains on view through February 28.
