Painting Landscape, following the title of Rodrigo Andrade’s 2022 exhibition at Millan and Almeida & Dale galleries, brings together the artist’s landscape works from the past two decades. The book highlights the range of techniques and approaches Andrade employs in his exploration of the landscape genre—from his expressionist-inflected early works and the Matéria Noturna series, presented at the 29th São Paulo Biennial, to more recent paintings that synthesize the visual language and repertoire developed throughout his career. Published in collaboration between Millan and WMF Martins Fontes, the volume includes essays by curator Lorenzo Mammì and Portuguese critic Delfim Sardo, as well as an annotated chronology of Andrade’s career by Marina Frúgoli.
