"Elisa Martins da Silveira" at Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR) celebrates Brazilian's modernism

The exhibition Elisa Martins da Silveira at the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR) celebrates the contribution of Elisa Martins da Silveira (1912–2001) to Brazilian modernism. Featuring over one hundred works by artists active in the 1950s and 1960s, the show revisits Martins’s practice and her role in Grupo Frente, highlighting her distinctive chromatic vocabulary and dialogue with her contemporaries. In collaboration with Galeria Almeida & Dale, the exhibition also includes an iconic piece from Hélio Oiticica’s “Metaesquema” series, which explores the dynamic interplay of color and geometric form.
