05/08/2024
The art scene in Rio de Janeiro gains a new landmark with the arrival of Flexa Galeria, which opens its doors this Saturday, May 11th, from 5:30pm to 9pm. Located on Rua Dias Ferreira, in Leblon, the gallery promises to bring a flexible and contemporary approach to the secondary art market, with a vision that embraces different generations and styles.
Its inaugural exhibition, “Rio: a medida da terra” [Rio: the Measure of the Land], is a vibrant celebration of the city's rich artistic history. Bringing together works by about 40 artists, the show spans over a century of Brazilian artistic production, from pioneers to contemporaries. It is an opportunity to explore the tensions between urban geometry and natural exuberance, reflecting the unique soul of Rio.
The team behind Flexa brings with it a heritage of passion for art and a commitment to excellence. With a combination of experience and vision, they are determined to strengthen Rio de Janeiro's role in the national art scene. Under the direction of Pedro Buarque, Luisa Duarte, and Maria Ferro, the gallery is committed not only to representing established artists but also to supporting new local talents.
In addition to offering a deep dive into the city's history and culture, Flexa Galeria also seeks to create contemporary dialogues and promote artistic diversity. With strategic partnerships and careful curation, it is ready to become a dynamic platform for growth and innovation in the Rio de Janeiro's artistic environment.
