Formal relationships in the curatorial thinking of "Temporal Landscapes: Evolving Perspectives
11/08/2024
In Temporal Landscapes: Evolving Perspectives, on view at Almeida & Dale, curator María Inés Rodríguez constructs a conceptual narrative and delineates formal relationships between the works: horizons in tempera by Eleonore Koch are accompanied by a seaside view by Djanira, and two works by Ione Saldanha made up of horizontal and vertical fields of color, creating a large common plane that extends across the exhibition spaces.
The show also contrasts the dimensions of nature and Marlene Almeida's monumental installations with the works by Farnese de Andrade and Leonilson, which, like totems, evoke the scales of the human body.
