The exhibition “Brasil! Brasil!”, on view at the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, Switzerland, explores the search for a modern artistic expression in Brazil during the first half of the 20th century.
Tarsila do Amaral is represented in the show by two paintings: Feira II (1925) and Paisagem com ponte (1931), which reflect her unique contribution to Brazilian modernism. One of the key moments portrayed by the exhibition is the 1922 Semana de Arte Moderna [Modern Art Week] in São Paulo, an event that would define Brazilian art for decades.
The exhibition “Brasil! Brasil!” is organized by the Zentrum Paul Klee, in cooperation with the Royal Academy of Arts in London, where it will be shown in 2025.
