The use of red color in “Temporal Landscapes: Evolving Perspectives”
01/07/2025
Observing Tomie Ohtake's works and her own installation – one in front of the other in the exhibition Temporal Landscapes: Evolving Perspectives – Marlene Almeida commented that red has always been very important in the history of art. “It was with this color that man began to work on rocks, in caves. It's the beginning of art, the prehistory of art. This red, which evokes and reminds me of ancestral red, of hematite, is certainly present in my work and in Tomie Othake work.”
The exhibition Temporal Landscapes: Evolving Perspectives, curated by María Inés Rodríguez, has as its central axis Marlene Almeida’s work. As well as paintings by Tomie Ohtake, the exhibition features works by Farnese de Andrade, Eleonore Koch, Djanira da Motta e Silva, Ione Saldanha, Leonilson, Joseca Mokahesi Yanomami and Vivian Caccuri.
Visitation until February 28, 2025.
